The Micromouse Competition is an event where small mobile robots compete in terms of speed and intelligence to solve a maze. Each robot entered in the competition is called a Micro Mouse.

The competition in Japan started in 1980, but the robotic race has an even longer history as an event in which robots compete each year with cutting-edge technology.

A new type of Micromouse Competition that uses a course that is half the size of the current race course will start in the fall of 2009.

In line with the new race, RT Corporation will release Pi:Co, a micro mouse kit that features a micro mouse that is half the size of the conventional micro mouse. The kit will go on sale in June of 2008.

The 5 cm cubic frame body is packed with robotic technology and features a USB port and a micro SD card reader as standard equipment. The Pi:Co kit is configured with four detachable and interchangeable pieces, and these pieces can be easily interchanged with option boards and even boards of your own design.

With a compact yet high performance body, the Pi:Co Micro Mouse will undoubtedly sprint through the expansive maze in record breaking time.
